Description
This Zemmour flatweave comes from Morocco’s central plains, the region between Khémisset, Rabat and Meknès. Selected for texture, scale, and exact-piece character, with final color confirmed by video before payment is captured.

Construction
Handwoven as a flatweave. Dimensions: 197 × 114 cm (approx. 6'6" × 3'9"). Weight: 3.4 kg.
Condition
Sound throughout, with no holes, thin areas, stains or repairs. The selvedges are intact. Both end fringes are present, formed from twisted red warp ends with natural variation in length. A few loose float ends are present in the decorated bands, concentrated in the orange work at the centre of the field.
Provenance
My mother bought and recorded the piece as Zemmour at the time of acquisition. Its construction and palette carry the documented characteristics of the tradition: a deep red ground, large-scale ivory geometry and strong colour contrast. The provenance label is Attributed because the individual weaver is not named; the regional attribution is established. Region: Zemmour (Central Plains) (Attributed) Tradition: Flatweave
Care
Shake out or vacuum using low suction without a beater bar. Spot-clean with cold water and mild soap. Use a professional rug cleaner for a full wash. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.
