Description
This hanbel, a Moroccan flatweave from Tiflet on the central plains east of Rabat, measures 6'2" × 2'11" and weighs 7.1 lbs. Selected for texture, scale, and exact-piece character, with final color confirmed by video before payment is captured.

Construction
Handwoven as a flatweave. Dimensions: 188 × 88 cm (approx. 6'0" × 2'11"). Weight: 3.2 kg.
Condition
Sound throughout, with no holes, thin areas, stains or repairs. The selvedges are firm along both long edges. Both end fringes are present and formed from plied ivory warp ends, with some loose ends at the corners. A lengthwise fold crease from storage runs along the piece and will relax as the rug lies flat. Scattered dark fibre flecks within the ivory ground are natural to the undyed wool. Loose float ends appear across the reverse behind each pattern band as an inherent feature of the brocade construction rather than damage.
Provenance
This piece was acquired and recorded as originating from Tiflet in Khémisset Province on Morocco’s central plains. Tiflet lies within the documented Zemmour weaving zone between Khémisset, Rabat and Meknès. Its flatwoven construction and banded composition are consistent with the weaving traditions of this area. Care
Shake out gently or vacuum using low suction without a beater bar. Spot-clean with cold water and mild soap. Use a professional rug cleaner for a full wash. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.
