Description
A ONE OF A KIND Moroccan mixed technique with 40+ individually hand-knotted pile motifs raised above the surface, each motif sitting as a small three-dimensional object on a warm ochre ground. The field reads quiet from across the room and detailed up close.

Construction
Handwoven as a mixed technique rug. Dimensions: 154 × 110 cm (approx. 5'1" × 3'7"). Weight: 4.0 kg.
Condition
Sound throughout, with no holes, thin areas, stains or repairs. The pile remains at full height across the borders and motif bands, with no crushing. The chedoui bands are intact with no pulled threads. The selvedges are firm along both long edges, with small pile tufts at intervals down both sides. The fringe is complete and plied at the fringed end.
Provenance
Attributed to the Glaoui weaving tradition of the Taznakht region based on structural and visual evidence. Glaoui is a technique designation within Taznakht work rather than a separate region. It refers to the combination of flatweave, knotted pile and chedoui, a fine black-and-white paired embroidery, alternating band by band within a single piece. All three techniques are present and confirmed on both faces of this rug, together with the characteristic banded structure and cream, ochre, red and olive palette. No sourcing record exists for this piece, so the attribution rests on the object rather than on paperwork. Care
Vacuum using low suction without a beater bar, keeping the nozzle away from the raised borders and chedoui bands. Shake out gently to lift the pile. Spot-clean with cold water and mild soap. Use a professional rug cleaner for a full wash. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.
